HMBHS students work on a variety of projects that are aimed at developing an understanding of elements of art and principles of design, skills in handling materials and a chance to express themselves creatively. Pen and ink art pieces are created each year by the art department’s many talented students for the annual student art calendar.
Open Studio Night is held during the 2nd semester in the art classrooms. The purpose of Open Studio Night is to showcase the art work that has been accomplished during the school year. It is also an opportunity for parents, guests, and students to share the skills that are learned in art classes.
The Annual Student Art Show is an event at the end of the year. This jurored art show takes place in a community gallery.
